3. Pinecone Bats with Felt Wings
Take a nature walk in the crisp autumn air to gather pinecones for this rustic, eco-friendly Halloween craft. Once you have collected your pinecones, give them a quick brush to clean off any dirt. Paint the pinecones with black acrylic paint and let them dry completely. While the paint is drying, help your child trace and cut out bat wings from black stiff felt or construction paper. Glue the wings to the back of the pinecone using strong craft glue. Add small googly eyes to the front, and cut out two tiny white felt triangles for the vampire fangs. You can tie a piece of fishing line or black thread around the top of the pinecone to hang these adorable little bats from chandeliers, tree branches, or curtain rods, creating the illusion of a colony of bats roosting in your home.
