5. Giant Creepy Eyeballs for Shrubbery
Turn your ordinary garden bushes into a watchful, multi-eyed monster looking out at passersby. This project is incredibly fun, highly visible from the street, and takes less than an hour to complete. It is a fantastic way to utilize bright white pool noodles and give your landscaping a playful yet eerie personality.
Slice white pool noodles into thick discs. Using outdoor-safe acrylic paint or permanent markers, draw a large, colorful iris (bright green, blood red, or piercing blue work best) in the center of each disc, followed by a bold black pupil. Use a fine-tip red marker to draw squiggly veins radiating outward from the iris to give them a bloodshot, crazed appearance. To mount them in your bushes, push a wooden garden skewer or wire hanger into the bottom of each noodle disc and push the other end into the soil or weave it through the branches. Position them in pairs throughout your hedges so they peer out from the leaves at unsuspecting trick-or-treaters.
