14. Giant Poisonous Mushrooms
Create an enchanted, dark fantasy forest in your front yard or entryway with giant, glowing poisonous mushrooms. These oversized woodland fungi look like they stepped straight out of a spooky fairytale, adding a beautiful, mystical element to your outdoor Halloween display.
Use a thick pool noodle as the mushroom stem, wrapping it in textured paper or painting it a pale, earthy cream color. For the mushroom cap, use a cheap plastic bowl or a straw hat. Cover the cap in red or deep purple fabric, and glue white foam discs (sliced from a white pool noodle) onto the top to represent the spots. Secure the cap to the top of the noodle stem. To make them glow at night, tuck a battery-operated puck light inside the hollow underside of the cap, casting a soft, eerie downward glow onto your lawn or garden bed.
