15. Spooky Tree Bark and Branches
If you want to bring the eerie atmosphere of a haunted forest indoors, you can use pool noodles to craft realistic, gnarled tree branches that stretch across your ceiling or frame your doorways. This is a highly effective way to add three-dimensional texture and scale to your indoor decorations.
Connect several pool noodles end-to-end to create long, winding branches, using wire inside to give them organic, twisted bends. To create the rough texture of tree bark, wrap the noodles in brown kraft paper that has been crumpled and creased, securing it with hot glue or Mod Podge. Paint the branches with various shades of brown, grey, and black acrylic paint to add depth and shadow. Drape faux Spanish moss, plastic spiders, and artificial crows along the branches to complete the look of an ancient, cursed forest growing inside your home.
