16. Floating Witch Hat Luminaries
Add a touch of classic, whimsical Halloween charm to your porch or hallway with floating witch hats that light up the night. This project combines inexpensive costume hats with pool noodles to help the hats maintain their perfect, structured shape while housing glowing lights.
Cut short segments of pool noodles to fit snugly inside the crown of cheap fabric witch hats. The foam noodle acts as a sturdy core, preventing the hats from collapsing in the wind or rain. Push a battery-operated LED light strand or a glowing glow stick into the hollow center of the noodle segment. Thread a needle with fishing line through the top point of the hat, securing it to the foam noodle inside. Hang the hats from your porch ceiling or trees. At night, the hats will appear to float in mid-air while emitting a beautiful, mystical glow from within.
