For a truly jaw-dropping, museum-quality yard display, create life-sized, crystal-clear packing tape ghosts. These sculptures look incredibly detailed because they capture the exact contours of a human form. When placed under blue or green spotlights in your yard, they glow with an icy, ethereal light, looking like frozen spirits trapped between worlds. They are durable, weather-resistant, and guaranteed to stop traffic.
To make one, you will need a mannequin torso or a willing volunteer wrapped in protective plastic wrap. Wrap heavy-duty clear packing tape around the form, sticky side out first, so it doesn’t stick to the clothing or mannequin. Then, wrap several layers of tape sticky side down over the first layer, pressing firmly to capture all the details of the face, hands, and clothing folds.
