19. Glowing Ground-Breaker Skeleton Hands

19

Give the terrifying impression that an army of the undead is clawing its way out of your front lawn with glowing ground-breaker skeleton hands. This project is perfect for adding a sense of action and narrative to your yard display. By combining plastic skeleton bones with faux dirt mounds and clever lighting, you can make your grass look like a dynamic, active burial ground rising up for Halloween night.

Purchase cheap plastic skeleton hands and arm bones. Drive wooden dowels or metal stakes into your lawn, and slip the hollow arm bones over them so they stand upright at various angles, clawing toward the sky. Pile dark mulch, potting soil, or dried leaves around the base of each arm to look like freshly disturbed graves. Hide green or purple outdoor spotlights in the mulch, pointing upward to illuminate the skeletal fingers and cast long, dramatic shadows across your grass.
