17. Poison Apple Branch Centerpiece
Bring the dark, twisted beauty of a fairytale forest indoors with a poison apple branch centerpiece. This project utilizes natural, organic elements—like gnarled, bare tree branches—and pairs them with glossy, deep red or black faux apples that look as though they have been dipped in a deadly, bubbling potion. It is a stunning, sculptural centerpiece that adds height and dramatic flair to your dining table, sideboard, or entryway console, blending rustic woodland textures with high-contrast, glossy finishes.
Go outside and forage for a few dry, highly textured, gnarled branches (manzanita or oak branches work wonderfully). Spray paint the branches entirely in matte black or deep charcoal grey, then secure them upright inside a heavy ceramic urn or vase filled with floral foam and black river stones. Next, take faux red craft apples and coat them in a glossy, dripping layer of black puff paint or colored hot glue, letting the black liquid run down the sides of the apples to look like a dripping, poisoned glaze. Once dry, hang the apples from the black branches using thin black ribbon or twine.
