14. Terracotta Clay Pumpkin Pinch Pots

14

Working with air-dry clay is incredibly therapeutic and allows you to create unique, organic home decor. These terracotta clay pumpkin pinch pots are perfect for holding rings, air plants, or small tea lights. Start with a ball of terracotta-colored air-dry clay. Roll it into a smooth sphere, then press your thumb into the center to create a well. Pinch and shape the sides to form a rustic bowl.

To turn the bowl into a pumpkin, use a butter knife or a clay tool to press vertical indentations around the outside of the pot, mimicking the ribs of a pumpkin. You can leave the rim smooth or give it an organic, uneven edge. If you want to make a lid, roll out another piece of clay, cut a circle that fits the top of your pot, and sculpt a small stem to attach to the center. Let the clay air dry completely for 24 to 48 hours, then seal it with a matte varnish to protect the earthy finish.
