17. Modern Brass Wire Spider Webs
If your home decor style leans toward modern, minimalist, or mid-century, traditional fake spider webs can feel out of place. Instead, create elegant, geometric spider webs using brass wire. This minimalist craft looks like a piece of modern sculpture. You will need brass wire in two different thicknesses: a thicker gauge for the structural frame and a thinner gauge for the delicate webbing.
Start by cutting three or four long pieces of the thicker wire and crossing them in the center, wrapping them together to form a starburst shape. This will be the main frame of your web. Next, take the thinner wire and begin wrapping it around each spoke of the frame, working your way outward in a spiral pattern, securing it with a small loop around each spoke as you go. The result is a delicate, shimmering gold web that can be hung in a window to catch the autumn sunlight or styled on a shelf.
