5. Frankenstein’s Monster
Bring Mary Shelley’s famous creation to life in a way that is thoroughly adorable and kid-friendly. Paint the upper two-thirds of a toilet paper roll a bright, monster green, and the bottom third black to represent his suit. Once dry, use a black marker to draw a jagged hairline at the top, a stitched scar across his forehead, and a flat, straight-lined mouth. Cut out two small bolts from silver foil or grey construction paper and glue them to the sides of the roll near the bottom of his head. To add more texture, you can glue black felt or a piece of black pom-pom to the top of the roll for his messy hair. Finish him off with two mismatched googly eyes to capture that classic, bewildered monster expression.
