16. The Swamp Monster
Let your kids get messy with textures by creating a slimy, scaly monster from the deep lagoon. Paint a toilet paper roll a murky, dark green or teal. While the paint is still wet, press textured materials into it, such as green sequins, torn bits of tissue paper, or small pieces of bubble wrap painted green to look like scales. You can also wrap green chenille stems around the roll to give it a bumpy, mossy feel. Add multiple glowing yellow eyes and draw a wide mouth filled with sharp, jagged green teeth to make this creature look like it just crawled out of a spooky Halloween swamp.
