3. Midnight Flying Bats
Transform ordinary cardboard tubes into a colony of swooping midnight bats that can hang from your ceiling. First, paint the entire toilet paper roll with matte black acrylic paint. Once dry, fold the top two edges of the roll inward to create two pointed bat ears. Cut out a pair of dramatic, scalloped bat wings from black construction paper or stiff felt. Glue these wings to the back of the roll, spreading them wide. For a touch of color, you can use metallic gel pens or glitter glue to draw intricate veins on the wings. Glue two red or yellow googly eyes onto the front of the roll, and draw a tiny mouth with two white fangs using a silver metallic marker. Punch a small hole in the back and tie a piece of fishing line through it to hang these spooky creatures around your home.
