20. Distressed Vintage Sheet Music Pumpkins
For a soft, neutral take on autumn decor, craft these beautiful pumpkins using the pages of old, yellowed sheet music. You can use inexpensive foam pumpkins from the craft store as your base. Tear vintage sheet music—especially songs with spooky or autumn themes—into small, irregular strips. Apply the strips to the pumpkin using Mod Podge, overlapping them to completely cover the orange surface and following the natural curves of the pumpkin. Once dry, rub a small amount of antique brown wax or distress ink into the crevices to highlight the pumpkin’s shape and give the paper an aged, tea-stained look. Finish with a rustic twine stem for a beautiful, literary-inspired decoration.
