15. Retro Crepe Paper Rosette Prize Ribbons
Celebrate the playful side of mid-century Halloween parties with handmade crepe paper rosette ribbons. These colorful awards were often given to guests for the “Best Costume” or “Spookiest Mask.” To make them, fold orange, black, and cream crepe paper into tight, accordion pleats, forming them into circular rosettes. Glue a circular cardstock center onto each rosette, decorated with vintage clip art of black cats, owls, or witches, and hand-write fun categories in elegant cursive. Attach two long, notched ribbons of crepe paper or satin to the bottom of the rosette. These charming ribbons can be pinned to party guests, used as unique place cards, or hung from a garland.
