19. Overgrown Ancient Jungle Sinkhole

19

Capitalizing on natural, organic terrain shapes, this design transforms a deep natural sinkhole into a sprawling, multi-tiered jungle residence. Packed mud, jungle wood, and leafy vines cover every inch of the courtyard walls, with thick tree roots extending down toward a natural water basin at the pit’s bottom. Wooden rope bridges and slab walkways crisscross through the open air of the sinkhole, connecting various living quarters built into small caves along the excavation walls. The bottom of the courtyard is a dense, wild sanctuary filled with bamboo, parrots, cocoa pods, and dripping waterfalls, offering an untamed, adventure-filled living space that feels completely integrated into nature.
