17. Medieval Castle Keep Courtyard
Infusing classic fantasy kingdom aesthetics into a subterranean footprint, this sunken courtyard looks like the lower bailey of an underground castle. Stone bricks, mossy cobble, and dark oak timber frame a massive rectangular excavation equipped with iron portcullises, hanging banners, and arched knight quarters. The floor of the courtyard features a cobblestone path surrounding a central weapon forging pit, complete with anvils, blast furnaces, and armor stands display rings. Wall-mounted torches and iron braziers provide a warm, flickering light that bounces off the heavy stone walls, giving the space an authentic, immersive medieval atmosphere that feels fortified, secure, and grand.
