9. The Crypt Keeper’s Cobweb and Tombstone Vignette
Bring the chilling atmosphere of a forgotten, overgrown cemetery into your home with a crypt-inspired mantle. Craft mini tombstones out of thick foam board, carving cracks and Celtic designs into them with a utility knife before painting them with textured gray stone spray paint. Position these tombstones along the mantle, surrounded by clumps of green spanish moss and faux ivy vines that look as though they are reclaiming the graves. Use high-quality beef net cobwebs—which stretch much more realistically than standard cotton spiderwebs—and drape them generously over the entire display, catching on the corners of the tombstones and trailing down to the hearth.
