16. Haunted Portrait Gallery with Moving Eyes
Turn your fireplace into the portrait gallery of a grand, haunted mansion. Gather a collection of ornate, baroque-style frames from thrift stores and paint them in matte black or tarnished bronze. Print out vintage, black-and-white portraits of Victorian families. To add a spooky DIY touch, carefully cut out the eyes of the subjects in the photos and place a second, slightly offset print of different eyes behind them, or use lenticular printing paper so the eyes appear to follow viewers as they walk across the room. Drape the frames in heavy, dusty-looking gray cheesecloth and allow a few plastic spiders to crawl across the glass.
