18. Vintage Sheet Music Candy Wrapper Garland

18

For a sweet, nostalgic, and eco-friendly craft project, try making a vintage sheet music candy wrapper garland. This unique design repurposes old, yellowed sheet music or book pages into classic, retro-style hard candy shapes, complete with twisted ends. It is a beautiful, whimsical way to celebrate the sweet traditions of Halloween while keeping your decor elegant, neutral, and classic. You will need several sheets of vintage music paper, small cardboard tubes (like those from toilet paper or paper towels) cut into two-inch sections, some natural jute twine, and a pair of pinking shears for a decorative, crinkled edge.

To create each candy, wrap a section of the vintage sheet music around a small cardboard tube, leaving about two inches of excess paper extending past the tube on both ends. Use your pinking shears to cut the outer edges of the paper for that classic, zig-zag candy wrapper look. Gently twist the excess paper at each end of the tube and tie it secure with a small piece of jute twine, holding the candy shape in place. You can leave them plain to showcase the beautiful musical notation, or stamp them with vintage-style Halloween motifs like crows or spiders. Thread a long piece of twine through the center of the cardboard tubes to string them together. This delightful, nostalgic garland looks wonderful draped across a piano, a bookshelf, or a cozy fireplace mantel.
