Cardboard Tube Hanging Bats
An excellent, eco-friendly craft to do with kids is turning empty cardboard toilet paper or paper towel tubes into hanging bats. Fold the top and bottom edges of the tubes inward to create a curved shape, paint them solid black, and glue on construction paper bat wings. Add a pair of googly eyes or draw a pair of tiny fangs with a white paint pen. Thread a string through the bottom, and you have a colony of bats ready to hang upside down from your chandeliers, light fixtures, or indoor plants.
This budget-friendly craft is fantastic for filling up large spaces quickly. Because they are so lightweight, you can easily hang dozens of them across a room using simple painter’s tape. It is a playful, charming project that proves you do not need to spend a fortune to create a festive, decorated home that feels full of life and holiday spirit.
