7. Hammered Metal Discs
There is a raw, industrial beauty in hammered metal. It captures light in a way that perfectly smooth metal cannot, creating a shimmer that feels artisan and high-end.
The Design: Use discs of brass, copper, or sterling silver. Using a jewelry hammer and a steel block, rhythmically strike the metal to create a “dimpled” texture. This hardens the metal and creates those beautiful facets that reflect light. You can leave them as simple, floating discs or attach them to a stud to create a “post” earring.
