18. The Cobwebbed Clockmaker’s Retreat
A smaller, more intimate take on the Victorian haunted theme, the Cobwebbed Clockmaker’s Retreat focuses on claustrophobic, highly detailed living spaces packed with tiny, eerie details. This is an ideal build for players who prefer smaller-scale survival bases without sacrificing atmospheric depth.
The house features steep gable roofs, small dormer windows, and a quaint yet crooked silhouette. Build the exterior with dark oak, spruce, and cracked stone bricks. The defining characteristic is the extreme density of cobwebs covering the roof eaves, windows, and surrounding trees, giving the impression that the house has been sealed away from the outside world for centuries.
The interior should be filled with clocks (using item frames with clock items), lecterns, armor stands tucked into cramped corners, and stacks of chests reaching the ceiling. It’s a cozy yet profoundly unnerving build that proves you don’t need a sprawling estate to create a deeply engaging haunted Victorian aesthetic.
