For players who prefer a cosmic or scholarly terror, the Haunted Ashen Observatory combines a high-Victorian scholar’s estate with an ancient astronomical facility. Perched on a desolate peak, this mansion is defined by a massive, central telescope dome crafted from oxidized copper and dark oak wood, pointed perpetually toward the cosmos.
Build the main body of the mansion using deepslate tiles, grey terracotta, and smooth basalt. The central dome should be built using curved sphere techniques, with a section of the dome retracted to reveal a massive, custom-built telescope constructed from copper blocks, spyglasses, lightning rods, and glass. Eerie blue light should emit from the interior of the dome, suggesting the astronomers were looking at something that wasn’t supposed to be found.
The interior should feature multi-story libraries packed with bookshelves, lecterns holding written books, star maps made of item frames, and cluttered study rooms filled with brewing stands and globes. Floating armor stands dressed in purple or black leather gear can simulate ghost scholars continuing their cosmic research. This theme offers a magnificent, intellect-driven horror aesthetic that stands out on any feed.
