Textured Mummy Wrap

19

This craft is a fantastic way to introduce your baby to the concept of wrapping and layering. Cut a simple mummy shape out of thick, dark cardboard. Provide your baby with strips of white masking tape, medical gauze, or white crepe paper. Help them stick and wrap the white strips across the cardboard mummy in random, overlapping patterns.

The contrast of the white gauze against the dark cardboard is highly visible for young babies, and the process of pulling and sticking tape is incredibly satisfying for older infants. Finish the mummy by tucking two large googly eyes peeking out from beneath the wrapped layers. It is a wonderfully rustic, textured craft that looks fantastic displayed on a bookshelf or mantle.
