Cardboard Tube Bat Mobile
Upcycle your empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls into a beautiful, rustic bat mobile that hangs elegantly in your nursery. Paint the cardboard tubes with black non-toxic paint, and once dry, fold down the top ends to create the characteristic bat ears. Have your baby help by pressing their hands painted in black or purple onto construction paper, which you can then cut out and attach to the sides of the tube as the bat wings.
String several of these cute bats together along a natural wooden branch using twine or black ribbon. Hang the mobile near a window or air vent where a gentle breeze can make the bats “fly.” The high-contrast black shapes against a light wall are visually stimulating for infants, and the use of recycled materials makes this an eco-friendly, budget-friendly crafting choice.
