Gothic Pressed Flower and Glass Webs
Combine the delicate beauty of botany with the eerie elegance of Halloween by creating gothic pressed flower and glass webs. This craft is perfect for preserving the last blooms of summer and transitioning them into your autumn decor. You will need a double-glass floating frame, a selection of pressed dark flowers (such as deep red roses, purple pansies, and dark ferns), and a metallic glass paint pen. Start by thoroughly cleaning the glass panes of your frame. On the inside of one pane, use the paint pen to draw a delicate, metallic gold or silver spider web.
Once the paint is dry, carefully arrange your pressed flowers and leaves around the edges of the web, as if they are being caught in its sticky threads or growing wild around it. Carefully sandwich the flowers between the two panes of glass and lock the frame. When hung against a window or a light-colored wall, the light shines through the glass, highlighting the rich colors of the pressed botanicals and the shimmering lines of the metallic web, creating a romantic, Victorian-gothic masterpiece.
