The Coastal and Airy Beach House Bar
Who says a basement has to feel dark and subterranean? You can completely defy the underground nature of your basement by designing a bright, breezy, coastal-inspired bar that feels like a chic beach house in the Hamptons or Malibu. The key to this transformation is a light and airy color palette. Paint the walls in soft whites, sandy beiges, or very pale seafoam blues. For the bar itself, use white-washed shiplap or beadboard paneling on the front, topped with a light wood counter like maple, ash, or a beautiful slab of white concrete mixed with crushed seashells.
